Girls’ Orphanage (Home for Poor Girls)
Providing free shelter, nutritious meals, healthcare, and school education to over 165 orphaned and vulnerable girls. Those completing 10th class are supported further based on their financial need and vulnerability for intermediate and higher education in reputed institutions.
NYSS identifies and supports very poor and at-risk girls from our orphanage by funding their further education, including junior college and professional courses, thereby opening doors to employment and independence.
We trained young women in Fashion Technology through reputed colleges in Tirupati and supported them with start-up aids. Many now run tailoring shops and provide services for weddings and local functions. Distribution of free tailoring machines in rural areas has enabled dozens of women to earn through stitching and build sustainable livelihoods as entrepreneurs.
We empower rural women through livestock-based livelihoods such as goat and cow rearing. These projects provide a reliable income source while increasing household resilience and women’s financial independence.
Conducting regular eye screening camps in rural villages. Over 1,000 individuals have been screened, 450+ received free spectacles, and several poor patients underwent cataract surgeries with free medications and follow-up care.
We regularly conduct general medical camps in rural and tribal areas. These camps offer free consultations, medicines, and referrals to government hospitals for advanced care, serving the poorest populations.
NYSS distributes food kits and essentials to poor families during times of crisis such as floods, pandemics, or natural disasters. Our outreach during COVID-19 served over 10,000 families.
We organize workshops and sessions on health, hygiene, government schemes, women’s rights, and economic awareness to strengthen the knowledge and agency of rural communities.
NYSS continues to support the formation of women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs) that promote savings, access to microfinance, and collective efforts to access entitlements and build local leadership.
Our team aids illiterate and very poor rural individuals in accessing bank services, ID documentation, healthcare, and schemes available through government channels.
*Note: Our previous Community-Based Rehabilitation Centre for Children with Disabilities has been temporarily suspended due to lack of funding. We aim to restart it once adequate resources are available.*
Each of these ongoing projects reflects our belief in sustainable, people-centered development. NYSS remains committed to changing lives one step at a time.
